Brand New Car Reviews Lexus Hybrid 2012
Lexus Hybrid 2012 - Introduction
Due to the constant rise in fossil fuel prices, hybrid cars are getting more and more popular these days. A hybrid vehicle uses the combination of the traditional internal combustion engine propulsion system with an electric propulsion system. The result of this combination is a vehicle with better fuel economy and even better performance compared to conventional vehicles. Hybrid vehicles exist in the form of hybrid cars, trucks, as well as buses.
Lexus is one of the several car brands that have implemented this green technology into their cars. Lexus is a luxury vehicle division of the Toyota Motor Corporation, which happens to be the worlds largest car manufacturer. The first Lexus hybrid car was introduced in the year 2004. Ever since, this marque has committed to produce more hybrid cars for the auto market. As a matter of fact, in 2009, Lexus sold more hybrid cars than conventional petroleum-based cars in the European market. Shortly after that, the company announced plans to become a hybrid-only brand in Europe.
According to Takeshi Uchiyamada, the Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Company, the company plans to release six new hybrid vehicles by the end of 2012: four under the Toyota brand, and the other two are from Lexus. The 40-mpg-plus 2012 Lexus CT 200h sporty compact hybrid is strongly predicted to be one of these two Lexus hybrids.
Lexus Hybrid 2012 - Features
First introduced in March 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show as the 2011 model year, the CT 200h is one of the latest petrol/electric hybrid cars from Lexus. The 2012 edition of the CT 200h, however, will not feature any major changes from its predecessor. This hybrid compact car is smaller than the other Lexus hybrid, the HS 250h. The 2012 CT 200h is classified as a 5-door compact hatchback with front engine, front wheel drive engine layout. It comes equipped with a 1.8 liter VVT-I 4-cylinder petrol engine, the same engine used by the highly popular mid-size hatchback Toyota Prius. This engine can generate up to 98 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque. When combined with the electric generator of the hybrid rive system, both engines can produce 134 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque. According to a study done in Australia, the 2012 CT 200h only consumes 4.1 liter for 100 km use. Imagine how much money you could save!
A driver can choose whether to drive the car with either one or the combination of the petrol/electric engine. Each option contributes to acceleration balance and fuel economy. This car does not require plug-in charging, because the electric engine recharges as the car moves. A driver can choose one of these four different powertrain modes: Normal mode for daily driving, Eco and Sport modes for high-economy, sporty driving, and EV mode which allows the car runs at 28 mph per 1 mile using electric power only.
Standard features include keyless access and engine start, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, and wireless cell phone link. Adaptive cruise control, sunroof, leather upholstered seats, navigation system, and rearview camera are optional. On the other hand, safety features include traction control, ABS, anti-skid system, curtain side airbags, front side air bags and front knee airbags. The estimated price for the 2012 CT 200h is $30,000, which makes it the cheapest hybrid in the market.

2012 Chevrolet Suburban Reviews

The poster features the Suburban LS, LT and LTZ 4WD with 2WD standard and optional, and 1,500 light and 2500 heavy series. (LTZ is available only in 1500 the series.)
A heavy Suburban 2500 can tow the heaviest of loads, with a penalty in ride quality and fuel consumption, but most drivers who need a full-sized Ute will be fine with the 1500 Suburban. It is equipped with GMs 5.3-liter V-8 and six-speed automatic transmission, and is good for 320 hp. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and the four wheels is an option. The flexible fuel engine and the fuel cylinder deactivation completed four cylinders when power of attorney is not necessary. The suburban train is smooth and powerful drive, and offers an EPA-rated gas mileage of 15/21 mpg. It can also tow up to 8.100 lbs.
The Suburban LTZ gets 20-inch polished alloy wheels, an elevator door, rain-sensing wipers, a rear air suspension, a blind spot alert, better leather, heated steering wheel, driver seat configuration memory, improved front seats with heating and ventilation, power folding second row heated seats, auto dimming rearview mirror, a system based hard drive navigation, rearview camera and a premium 10-speaker Bose surround sound system with digital music storage.
The LS comes standard with alloy wheels, 17 inch, side assist steps, roof rails, power front bucket seats with center console, a 50/50-split third-row seat, three-zone manual climate control, full power accessories, Bluetooth, steering wheel-mounted audio system rear seat audio controls with headphone jack and a stereo with eight speakers, CD player, satellite radio, auxiliary audio input and iPod / USB. The LT adds fog lights, roof rack cross bars, a locking rear differential, heated mirrors, rear parking sensors, leather upholstery, heated front seats, three-zone automatic climate control, power adjustable pedals, vehicle control and an enhanced Bose sound system with six-CD changer.
Chevrolet offers two engine options for the 2012 Suburban. The Model 1500 comes with a 5.3-liter V8 engine 320 horsepower and 335 lb.-ft. of torque. A 6.0-liter V8 that pumps out 352 hp and 382 lb-ft of torque is standard on the 2500. Both V8 engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. In 1500 or 2500 model, buyers have a choice of rear-wheel drive or all four wheels. The 4WD Suburban is offered with a choice of a traditional two-speed transfer case or a single speed drive without low range (not available on LTZ).
Although perhaps not as elegant as some of the latest models of Chevy Suburban passenger compartment remains attractive and well done. In addition, controls and gauges are easy to see and easy to handle.
Within the Suburban is nearly the size of some rooms that we occupied Japan, with 137.4 cubic meters of cargo space behind the first row of seats. Seating of first and second row can be blocks or banks, while the third row of seats is a foldable sofa which, unfortunately, is not completely flat when it is not necessary, in contrast to the Expedition. Can be completely eliminated, but is large and heavy, and actually need two people to do that. Not only that, the seat mounting tabs protrude and can scratch cargo. Correctly specified, the Suburban with a capacity of nine persons, including a number of young adults in the back, but ideally the third row is reserved for children.
2012 Chevrolet Suburban The list of standard safety features include four-wheel ABS disc brakes, stability control GMs emergency communication system of the star, front seat side airbags and three rows side curtain airbag system with rollover sensor. A warning system of blind spots is also available in the LTZ.
In terms of size, the only SUV that can compete with the Suburban, the Ford Expedition EL. Smaller "full size" body-on-frame SUVs including the Nissan Armada and Toyota Sequoia.

Kempten commitment to maximum urban sportiness - the new ABT Q3
"The Q3 is an extremely athletic yet very elegant vehicle. It combines the powerful aesthetics of a robust car with the shape of a cool coupe", explains Hans-Jürgen Abt. For the CEO of ABT Sportsline, the worlds largest tuner of vehicles from the VW Group, the latest offspring of the SUV family represents an absolute highlight in the product range: "In its class the Q3 is something special. For our designers it provides the perfect working basis, as it is both classy and dynamic", states Hans-Jürgen Abt. For example the Abts were able to further accentuate the unique tornado curves of the Q3 with side sills. In connection with the striking ABT front grill and the front spoiler the inherently compact car seems more powerful and to have more presence. The rear wing, rear apron and exhaust pipe covers ensure that from the rear of the SUV you can see that the car has a good figure.
After all the ABT Q3 does not just look sporty - it is sporty too: the engineers from Bavaria are currently working on the final tests of the individual ABT POWER performance packages. But it is already certain that the new car will provide an additional boost of maximum sportiness and extra driving enjoyment in practically all situations. As a result the most powerful version of the 2.0 TSI is expected to offer 250 HP or 184 kW (series standard: 211 HP/155 kW). The 170 HP version (125 kW) has been converted by ABT Sportsline into a sports engine with 210 HP (154 kW). For SUVs, a diesel engine is of course always a good, economical solution. As a result ABT POWER is also available for both performance levels of the economic 2.0 TDI: the series standard 140 HP (103 kW) is increased to 170 HP (125 kW), while the version with 177 HP (130 kW) as standard offers a high-torque 195 HP (143 kW) after the power treatment by ABT. The turbo diesel with two litre cubic capacity is the first choice if you want a little more, for example if the athletic ABT Q3 is also to be used as a workhorse.
Regardless of which engine is chosen, the customer always receives a vehicle which combines maximum driving fun with everyday usability and reliability. The fact that handling and optics do not have to suffer due to the cars diversity is proved emphatically by the SUV of ABT. And the new Q3 in particular is a really attractive car, its design elements harmonise with the performance improvements - both have been developed as it were from the high demands of ABT customers. Consequently the extravagant light metal alloys from the CR and DR ranges suit the ABT Q3s powerful-robust coupe shape perfectly. It goes without saying that the alloys are also available in combination with strong load-bearing high-performance tyres - in accordance with the commitment to maximum urban sportiness.
2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport

GM is addressing the growing demand for compact crossovers by introducing the 2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport which will become available to customers in the U.S. in the fourth quarter of 2011.
The 2012 Chevrolet Captiva Sport will be available in three trim levels – LS, LT and LTZ – with two different powertrain choices. The base engine is GMs Ecotec 2.4-liter direct-injected four-cylinder, while the uplevel powerplant is The Generals 3.0-liter direct-injected V6. Having experienced both of these units in the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain crossovers, we found the four to be far smoother and more refined than the anemic V6. In any case, both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is optional on LTZ models.
All models feature 17-inch aluminum wheels, XM Satellite Radio, six-speaker sound system, four-wheel disc brakes with antilock, traction control, StabiliTrak electronic stability control, air conditioning, power locks and windows (with driver’s express down) and remote keyless entry. For fleets opting for the LT and LTZ, those crossovers will gain duel exhaust along with the V6 engine, OnStar and Bluetooth as standard. LTZ models also come with a standard 10-speaker sound system and a sunroof.

Press Release
Chevrolet Captiva Sport to Help Meet Fleet Customer Demand for Compact Crossovers
DETROIT - Chevrolet will introduce the Captiva Sport, a new entry to the U.S market, later this year to help satisfy growing demand for compact crossovers by fleet customers. The Captiva Sport is a variant of the globally successful Chevrolet Captiva compact crossover.
Variants of the compact crossover are sold in more than 50 markets across Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, the Middle East and South America. The U.S.-specific version will give fleet customers a contemporary five-seat crossover with a comprehensive range of features and amenities, and will also address their need for roominess, utility and fuel efficiency.
"It says a lot about our ability to draw on international programs and proven, quality crossovers that we were able to identify and federalize a strong new entrant such as Captiva Sport for the U.S. market," said Alan Batey, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet Sales and Service. "We turned to our global network for a solution to quickly meet the rising demand from local fleet customers and continue to meet strong retail demand for the Equinox."
The Captiva Sport will be available for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2011, as a 2012 model.
The Chevrolet Equinox continues to show strong retail sales growth, with retail sales up 98 percent in February compared with the same month last year. Chevrolet expects sales retail sales to remain strong, in part due to its 32 mpg highway fuel economy rating, higher than the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, or Ford Escape.
The Captiva Sport features either an Ecotec 2.4L direct-injected four-cylinder or 3.0L direct-injected V-6 engine - each matched with a fuel-saving six-speed automatic transmission. Because the crossover is based on a proven GM global architecture, only minor revisions are required to meet federal standards, allowing Chevrolet to fast-track the Captiva Sport for the United States.
The Captiva Sport will be offered in LS and LT models, with four trim packages, including an all-wheel-drive model (LTZ). All models feature 17-inch aluminum wheels, XM Satellite Radio, six-speaker sound system, four-wheel disc brakes with antilock, traction control, StabiliTrak electronic stability control, air conditioning, power locks and windows (with drivers express down) and remote keyless entry.
Uplevel LT and LTZ models include the V-6 engine (with dual exhaust), along with OnStar and Bluetooth phone connectivity. A rear-view camera and leather trim package - including leather-trimmed and heated front seats - are standard on LTZ and available on other trims. The LTZ trim also includes a 10-speaker sound system and a sunroof.
"The range of features offered by the Captiva Sport is as rich as any Chevrolet vehicle," said Batey. "Our fleet customers will find it to be a versatile vehicle that gives them the cargo capacity they need, in a fuel efficient package that will help keep their ownership costs in check."
Under the skin
At the core of the Captiva Sport is a European-inspired driving character, with a stiff, steel body-frame integral structure complemented by a MacPherson strut independent front suspension and independent multi-link rear suspension. An isolated engine cradle enhances quietness and contributes to a smooth ride.
Standard on all models are four-wheel antilock disc brakes, traction control and StabiliTrak electronic stability control - systems that work together to provide outstanding vehicle control
In addition to handling features such as StabiliTrak that help drivers avoid crashes, the Captiva Sport helps protect occupants with its high-strength steel structure and a long list of standard occupant-protection safety features. Dual-stage front-seat air bags, front-seat side thorax air bags and rollover capable head curtain air bags covering front and rear rows are standard on all models.
Other standard safety features include front-row safety belt pretensioners, Pedal Release System that decouples the brake pedal in a crash to avoid injuries, active head restraints, tire pressure monitoring system, automatic power door locks and side turn signal lamps.
