Check the integrity of visual support is almost impossible, and when it is considerable wear you will hardly hear it rattle because the sound in our cars and so lacking. To properly check the ball joints need to raise the vehicle on a lift, substitute for an iron pillar support and lowered the car a bit to load on the support was due to the pressure bearing on the iron pillar. Now we take a crowbar or pry bar and rests on the suspension arm. Then he begins to perform oscillatory motion, as if to vomit support. If you can clearly observe the play in motion sharogo finger - hence reliance is time to change. 1. Turn off the key at 19 nut ball joint to the lever 2. Remover vypressovyvaem finger ball joint of the lever 3. In the absence of the puller nut finger turns away not completely 4. Create a preload assembly shovel and strike a hammer on the lever until the decompression pin 5. Pressing out the mounting paddle down the suspension, we derive the ball pin from the hole lever 6. Head of 17 turns away two bolts attaching ball bearings to the steering knuckle All are now supporting ball in our hands. Source of "Charger"
It began since the early sixties many car manufacturers were exploring new ideas in the personal luxury car segments. Chrysler, slow to get into the special cars, their selected Dodge Division to enter an untapped market for a larger model to fit between the "pony car" Ford Mustang and the "personal luxury" Ford Thunderbird. The intention was to use the B-body sports car with a fastback look to share as much of their existing hardware.

Lynn Townsend was at odds with the Dodge dealer and wanted to do something to please them. In 1965, he asked me to come to their office-the second time. He noted that one of the Dodge Dealer Council requests was for a Barracuda type vehicle.

1974 Dodge Charger-Front Left View

The general theme of dealer product recommendation was the same-we want to have Plymouth. A specific request for a Mustang type vehicle was not as controversial to Lynn. His direction to me was to give them a specialty car but he said for Gods sake do not make it a derivative of the Barracuda: ie do not make it a Barracuda competitor.

Press Release

100% ELECTRIC NISSAN LEAF PICKS UP EUROPEAN CAR OF THE YEAR 2011 TROPHY

The trophy recognizing the revolutionary Nissan LEAF as Europes Car of The Year 2011 was handed over to Nissan Motor Co.s President and CEO Carlos Ghosn in a special ceremony at the Pavillion Gabriel in Paris.

To win the award, the 58 CoTY members - leading motoring journalists from 23 European countries - placed Nissan LEAF ahead of six conventional new cars on the shortlist. It is the first time in CoTYs 48-year history that the annual award has been won by an electric vehicle.

"I am convinced that we will see other electric cars named Car of the Year in the future. But when we do, we must always remember that only one can be the first. And that is why Nissan LEAF Car of the Year 2011 is - and will remain - so very special," said Håkan Matson, president of the CoTY jury, speaking at the ceremony.

"It is a great honor for Nissan LEAF to be recognized as the European Car of the Year - the first all-electric car to receive this distinction. Like previous Car of the Year winners, Nissan LEAF is an appealing, competitive car, with no compromise on style, features, safety, performance or handling. Yet it stands apart as an innovative car that reflects a clear vision of the future of transportation - a vision of sustainable mobility," said Ghosn after receiving the trophy.

Nissan LEAF is powered by an in-house developed compact electric motor and inverter in the front of the car driving the front wheels. The AC motor develops 80 kW of power and 280 Nm of torque, enough for a maximum speed of 145 km/h (90 mph). The electric motor is powered by an advanced laminated lithium-ion battery with a power output of more than 90 kW. Developed by the Automotive Energy Supply Corporation (AESC), a joint venture between Nissan and electronics giant NEC Corp., the breakthrough battery has the capacity to store twice as much energy as the previous generation battery.

The zero-emission car is fully equipped with features such as regenerating braking, air conditioning, satellite navigation and a parking camera. Innovative smart phone connectivity will allow an owner to heat or cool the interior of the car remotely via a mobile phone. The single option is a solar panel mounted in the rear spoiler.

Pre-orders for Nissan LEAF have reached more than 27,000 units globally. The zero-emission car is currently built in Japan, but will also be manufactured in the United States and United Kingdom when new manufacturing facilities there open in late 2012 and early 2013 respectively. Deliveries to individual customers in Japan and the US began in December. In Europe, deliveries will start shortly to Portugal, the Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands followed by more markets later in the year.

The Renault-Nissan Alliance aims to be a global leader in zero-emission mobility and is taking a comprehensive approach encompassing both the product and the infrastructure required to support the mass marketing of electric vehicles. To date, the Alliance has entered into more than 90 partnerships with governments, municipal authorities and companies worldwide to prepare the markets and infrastructure for the successful adoption of electric vehicles.

* The current version of the coveted marble trophy, introduced in 2004, was created by Emmanuel Zurini, a French artist famous for his automotive sculptures. Zurini was a leading Grand Prix photographer in the 1960s before turning to sculpture in 1975. It is the third specially created trophy in the history of the Award.

Nissan has won the CoTY award before. In 1993, the Micra became the first Japanese-badged car to win the accolade and started Europes love affair with the little car that continues today with the recent launch of the latest generation Micra in late 2010.

How Do I Replace the Oil in a BMW 528i

1. Warm the engine up to operating temperature so that oil will drain out completely. Park the BMW on a flat, level surface. Lift the front passenger side of the car with a floor jack, using the factory jacking point. Lower the car onto a jack stand placed under the front cross member. You can leave the jack in place for added security if you prefer. Alternatively you can drive the front of the car up onto a pair of ramps.
2. Locate the oil drain plug, which is on the oil sump and points down at an angle. Place an oil catch container under the oil drain plug. Use a 17 mm socket to loosen and remove the drain plug. Let the oil fully drain into the container. Loosen the oil cap in the engine bay to speed the process.
3. Locate the large, cylindrical container with a 36 mm nut on top. This is the oil filter housing. Unscrew the 36 mm nut with a socket and ratchet. Remove the cap and the filter as a unit. Remove the filter and then the O-ring located in the cap by gently prying it out with a screwdriver.
4. Install a new O-ring in the cap. Lightly coat the O-ring with engine oil. Install the new filter onto the cap. Make sure all the oil has drained out of the engine and then reinstall and tighten the filter and cap.
5. Wipe off the drain bolt. Remove the old crush washer from the drain bolt. Install a new crush washer on the bolt. Install the drain bolt and tighten it to 21 foot-pounds. Remove the oil cap on the valve cover and pour 7 qts. of oil into the engine. Tighten the oil cap. Start the engine and let it get up to operating temperature or drive it. Ensure there are no leaks.

Consumer Reports kinda, sorta likes the electric-powered Fiat 500e Last month, Consumer Reports decidedly panned the Mitsubishi i after a test drive of the small electric vehicle. The magazine doesnt dislike everything little and battery powered, though, and was quite a bit kinder to the Fiat 500e, saying it is "actually kind of a cool little car."

CR released a two-minute video for the Fiat test drive (available below) and complimented the car on its styling, with kudos given to its interior color scheme, special wheels and grille. CR noted that the car has little in the way of back-seat room and storage, but said it wasnt any worse than the regular 500 compacts.

As for performance, CR admitted that it was hard to figure out whether the 111-horsepower 500e would regularly hit its stated 80-mile single-charge range because the test drive was done in cold weather, but did say the car felt quicker than the non-turbo 500 because of the torque generated by the electric motor. In fact, CR went as far as calling the 500e "a hoot to drive." The publication criticized the Mitsubishi i for its sluggishness as well as for what CR said was the models cheap finish.Consumer Reports kinda, sorta likes the electric-powered Fiat 500e

How to Remove the Center Console on a BMW 740i

1. Drive the BMW 740 into your garage or driveway because if you perform this removal procedure on the side of the road it will look like you are stealing the stereo. Place the 740 in Park and pull the emergency brake to make sure it does not shift while you are working on it. Make sure the car is off before you continue.
2. Pull the two plastic cup holders out from the center arm rest by hand. Unscrew the Philips head screws at the bottom of the cup holder holes. Go to the back seat of the 740 and pull the ash tray out from the rear of the front center arm rest. Unscrew the two Philips head screws that are underneath. Pull the center arm rest up and then back and place it to the side so that it does not get bent. Pull the emergency brake jacket off and the center plastic bezel from around the shifter.
3. Pry the bottom of the center console bezel up with a flat screwdriver. Be very gentle, as you can easily crack the plastic. Work the screwdriver in the seam between the center console bezel and the rest of the dash. Pull the center console bezel straight back and then up once all the pegs are disengaged. Place the center console somewhere safe, as it too is prone to cracking.

How to Replace the Power Steering Pump on a BMW

1. Remove the lower splash guard by turning its bolts in a counterclockwise direction. There are four bolts holding it in, and removing it will give bottom access to the power steering pump.
2. Drain the fluid from the pump by uncapping it and siphoning the old fluid out with a turkey baster or similar device. Fluid can be collected in a drain pan.
3. Remove the drive belt by turning the tension pulley in a clockwise direction, as it is threaded opposite of most manufacturers pulleys. Once this pulley has released its tension, the belt can be slid off of the power steering pump, which is on the bottom right of the motor.
4. Unbolt the power steering pumps bolts in a counterclockwise direction.
5. Uncouple the pumps lines by turning the nuts in a counterclockwise direction with a line wrench. Some models will have disconnects on the pump, and the hardware should be saved for reuse unless the new pump has replacements.
6. Remove the pump from the vehicle by pulling it towards the front and away from the car.
7. Replace the pump with the new one, reconnecting its lines and tightening the mounting bolts.
8. Replace the drive belt and tighten the tension pulley by turning its bolt in a counterclockwise direction. The belt should have about an inch of play.
9. Fill the power steering pump with fresh fluid by cranking the car and moving the steering wheel back and forth while pouring fluid into the pump. Do not overfill the pump, as the pressures inside of it are very high.

I Replaced the Battery and My BMW X5 Won 039 t Start

1. Turn your ignition key in your BMW X5 so you can power electrical devices, but dont try to start your engine. Turn on your headlights and other electrical equipment. Check how bright the headlights are and how fast the heater-fan is turning. If the lights are dim and the heater-fan turns slowly you probably have a discharged battery.
2. Turn the ignition key further and attempt to start your car. If the engine doesnt turn over or turns over very slowly then your battery has little or no power.
3. Check the battery cables are securely connected on the battery terminals. Poor connections mean the power necessary to turn your starter motor cant pass through the connection and gives the same result as if the battery is flat. Undo the battery cables using a wrench then re-tighten them. Try to start your BMW X5. If it wont start, its not the terminal connections.
4. Get someone to give you a jump-start. Position the other car so the two batteries are close enough to attach battery cables. Use battery cables and attach the positive cable to the other cars positive battery terminal and then connect the opposite end to the positive terminal on your battery. Repeat the process by connecting the negative cable to the negative terminals of the other car, and then to your BMW X5.
5. Turn on the engine of the other car. Increase the revolutions slightly. Attempt to turn on the engine of your BMW X5. If it starts, your battery is dead. If it doesnt start you need to get it checked out by a professional. If it started, run the engine to charge the battery. Go for a short drive then leave your car off for several hours.
6. Check to see if your car starts. If it does your battery is fine. If it doesnt start, your battery isnt holding a charge so you should take it back and replace it.
